I WANT to go green.

I really do. I got my CFL’s, I recycle, and long before gas hit $4.00 a gallon I wrote car companies asking them to build more fuel efficient vehicles. I even think we should go the way of China and outlaw plastic grocery bags altogether. So why is it that I keep getting plastic bags at the grocery store? I have a plethora of reusable bags. Having bags isn’t the problem. It’s remembering to bring them in the store with me. I even started keeping the bags in the car so I wouldn’t have to remember as I leave my house. But they still sit there in the car. Not until I am in the grocery line does it even cross my mind. So they sit in my car while the cabinet under my sink is being overrun by plastic grocery bags. Do you use reusable grocery bags? If so, how on earth do you remember them?

I do reuse my plastic bags to:
1 Pick up Kirby's oupoopiedo.
2 Line my bathroom garbage cans
3 Use them as packing material when I mail packages
4 Keep craft projects in them

I do the EXACT same thing! They make good church bags...

My kid's school collects them for the Walmart's plastic bag recycling program. Walmart donates $30,000 for the top school. Ask Alan's school if they participate in the program...Just a thought....

Our city seperates the recyclables & trash now so I can ease my conscience and put them in the recycle bin

but before that I'd have the same problem. To remember to take them to the store I put a note on my refrigerator so I would remember (and I kept them in my car) until I got in the habit of it.

I actually use platic bags for the kid's lunches because the paper bags aren't recyclable if they get food on them. The plastic are.
